Macrame cord, supplies, beads…where do you find them? As macrame has gone a bit under the radar, it’s getting more and more difficult to find a good source of supplies. I find that most people end up using a couple of different stores since different places carry different types of items, and so you’ll need to have a few favorites. It really depends o the particular project you are wanting to do. Here is a list of some of the macrame supply stores I like:
This store features pretty much anything you would need or want to get started in macrame: tpins, project boards, cord, hoops, and free patterns.
This is a wholesale macrame supply store which offers scrap bags if you are not ready to invest in lots of different cord color and sizes. These are really helpful for practicing with.
This is a general craft store with a wide selection of macrame supplies at very reasonable prices. I find this store really easy to navigate and to use.
This is a wonderful boutique bead store site (now on Etsy) run by the same woman behind Free-Macrame-Patterns.com You’ll find gorgeous wood beads, charms and other one-of-a-kind supplies. Plus you’ll be supporting someone from our community!
A great place for finding interesting vintage beads as well as lamp beads. It’s a good selection but you have to hunt around a bit.
This site is great for those of you focused on micro-macrame. They have an incredible selection of seed beads and fun baubles to look at. Very well organized, and lots of freebie pattens for other jewelry projects.
